MT test at low temperatures
We are happy to share this customer feedback on our magnetic particle testing agents. In this case, it concerns PFINDER 251 (black magnetic powder suspension) and PFINDER 280 (background color).
About a pipeline test job in the snow at -24°C, while the test surface was warmer:
"I was probably outside the normal temperature range, but I tested it beforehand. I carried out tests with PFINDER 280 and PFINDER 251 on two repaired 80′ joints. The pipe itself was heated. The undercoat paint and magnetic powder suspension worked well."
Good to know and of particular importance for NDT service providers these (cold) days.
