What are dye penetrants?
Dye penetrants consist of three coordinated components:
- Red penetrant with high dye concentration
- Cleaner to remove excess penetrant
- White developer, which serves, among other things, as a high-contrast background layer
The red penetrant penetrates into fine imperfections, where - after removing the excess penetrant - it is made visible by the white developer. Cracks and pores appear as red indicators on a white background - easily visible to the naked eye, without any UV illumination.
